   1. given set of inputs generates a specific output

   1. you put in what species you’re going to grow

   1. the most public tool that is loosely based on expert opinions

   2. rough estimates (ex 2000-5000 lbs biomass etc)

   3. low resolution on any of the specific goals

   4. used mostly to compare species at a general overview level

   5. ranks and orders covercrops but doesn’t offer a specific recommendation

4. seedcalc

   1. the user comes with a specific list of covercrops

   2. gives you a specific output based on inputs

   3. before cover crop is planted

Possible interop

1. after selected species

2. econ gets populated with general best guesses about the general seeding rate

3. ncalc gets populated with an estimate of biomass
