To guarantee data quality and standardization we have developed AltaRes. AltaRes is a portable image acquisition system which consists of a high resolution camera, an android tablet and a monopod. Check out the full list of parts here.

Weeds image collection using the AltaRes at the ARS Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, MD.

AltaRes System Diagram. The plants are imaged using the high resolution camera which outputs RAW and JPG files. The RAW files are uploaded by the user to our database in the cloud through a web uploader. The JPG files and metadata are entered to the app which packages those under a unique name. The data package is then uploaded to the database through the app. The app also gathers information from the database to generate summary tables of data collection status.
