Scrum Overview

Introduction

Scrum is an iterative methodology that organizes teams to quickly develop a product.

The main idea of scrum is that work should be done in iterations. You will define an iteration cycle (for this example we’ll use 2 weeks). This cycle is called a sprint.

During each sprint, teams will meet regularly to stay up to date with the whole team. These are called stand up meetings.

At the end of each sprint the team will meet to have a retrospective to review the previous sprint and a planning meeting to plan the next sprint.

Initial Steps

  1. Define sprint length

  2. Schedule stand up meetings, sprint retrospectives, sprint planning meetings

  3. Assign initial tasks to the first sprint

Recurring Steps

  1. Regular stand up meetings

  2. Sprint retrospective

  3. Sprint planning
