Introduction

This document outlines some final data questions for the WCCC tool. It may be easiest to look at the live tool to see the behavior. Please keep in mind we are still working out some final kinks so you may run into bugs. The tool is live at https://develop.covercrop-selector.org/

  1. Filters

    1. Finalize if the filters list needs to be updated (please edit in the CSV emailed to WCCC)

    2. Some filters have very long options due to being comma separated strings. Should these values be split so that there is only one filter option for each value instead of a comma separated string?

  2. Goals (please edit in the CSV emailed to WCCC)

    1. Finalize if the goals list needs to be updated

  3. Key traits (please edit in the CSV emailed to WCCC)

    1. Decide if you would like to use key traits for crops. If yes, what should they be? You can pick up to 3 values.

  4. Text for new filters. Based on messages in slack and the meeting, these are possible names for the filters. Please finalize names and answer questions below.

    1. Filter crops by soil drainage?

    2. Will you irrigate your cover crop?

      1. Should the calendar view only display either rainfed planting dates or irrigated dates but not both?

      2. Should both rainfed and irrigated dates be displayed on the info sheet?

      3. Finalize the desired behavior for WA eco region 7 if irrigation is selected. We have currently flagged the crops that can be bumped up to excessively drained with a red border around the crop image but this seems a bit confusing. Should it change the soil drainage filtering logic? Or is there a better way to visually explain why a crop is being highlighted?

    1. Is the data verification done?

    2. The data is only at the state level?

  2. What to call notes for termination if the user selects conserving soil moisture? We last landed on something like this Qualitative Termination Window for Soil Moisture Conservation?

    1. Take into account whether rainfed or irrigated is selected by the user or show both in the info sheet?
