Road blocks

• Incomplete data access. PDI - Grant gone August and Sept. No one else can access ESRI files

  • Only some of the Grower Survey for FL-Craft existed in the exported Postgres database, and none of the rest of the surveys. Reconstructing the survey pipeline has been challenging with these holes, not to mention no access to previous data for any data visualizations.

  • Missing

    • Pre-audit Survey > which generates Map files

    • Sampling Survey(s) > links sentinel trees with nutrient data

• FL- Craft

  • Grower Survey next highest priority, particularly Cycle 5 contract growers to input their data to get payments , now that several have planted. No deadline to launch yet.

  • PSA generated and delivered Kobo account names and passwords per a list of all the current growers that have USDA accounts

    • Tina will create these Kobo accounts, likely with a more generic password, same for all, and she will assist them in updating it 1 at a time. This work flow has been discussed but not executed yet.

  • PSA to request the associate between contracts > subplots > sites. This can happen in a variety of ways:

    • Request FL-Craft to add the subplot names to each of the contract lists

    • Access the raw contracts from Cycle 5 (the traditional way done by PDI/ Grant)

    • Access the Pre-audit survey, filled out by Duke still in ESRI. PSA to request these forms from PDI

  • Sarah [PSA] Canceled standing meetings July 25 and Aug 8 for no updates

  • Samayita [PDI] forwarded a communication, Aug 5, from Orlando jesus21lime@outlook.com requesting “Can you give permissions to CraftTechTCPDMC_USDAARS. The system does not have access to the apps.” Need to investigate:

    • 1. This person’s connection to TX-Craft. From our meeting with David and Yovanna, they are the only people in their team.

    • 2. What research forms they complete and may need access to as we build TX forms and create accounts.

    • 3. What are these access pinch points?

  • Plan a site visit to TX

Roadblocks

• Launch of Grower Survey

  • 1. The most requested feature from FL-Craft for the Grower Survey was for growers to be able to copy the previous survey answers into a new form, and change the subplot name and maybe one slight difference.

    • This was a key feature in ESRI / ESRI app dashboard.

    • Kobo’s unique infrastructure of Android app only, and Enketo only online filling creates a challenge. Trevor is working on it, has a plan to access Kobo API and fill a blank Enketo form from a button clicked in the submitter’s email.

    • Will likely launch the form WITHOUT the copy form work flow in place.

  • 2. Pairing of sublot information with contract numbers and account names

    • Sarah is working on accessing this information from FL-Craft

• PDI

  • Access constraints. From Samayita: Our tech is on leave for the next 6 weeks. We have a tech constraint now, but I have reached out to another GIS person, and will let you know if they could add Jesus Garcia to the CRAFT TX working group.

  • This has not been problematic for PSA yet. Samayita has been very helpful and responsive. We may have issues requesting a data dump of the information since April that is still being collected by all parties.

• Received Cycle 5 Application survey for Craft-FL from PDI May 31, 2024. PSA receives encouragement from CRAFT- FL to open ASAP

• Introductions to TX and CA craft, facilitated by Samayita

• Set-up meeting with TX with Yovana and David (will be July 11). CA told us to hold off until they were ready, and to only contact Ivan.

• Reviewed the following surveys with FL- Craft:

  • Pre-audit survey

  • First half of Grower Survey

Outstanding and Future Items

• June 4, requested that PSA meet with PDI staff about TX and CA data management, since it has not been previously discussed other than the delivery of the data dump 4/30. PDI very short staffed, will help when requested.

• Continuing to learn what surveys and dashboards exist for TX and CA.

• Learned that Craft-FL ETT application would fall to PSA as well.
